Yet none of those accomplishments means more to him than the gold medal he won with Team USA. So now he will try to replicate some of those feelings as a member of Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
“It’s an honor for sure,” Oswalt, who joined the U.S. team Sunday, says of wearing the American uniform. “To get to wear it in 2000 and actually winning a gold medal is probably the best highlight in baseball as far as not really playing for one city or one thing. You’re representing your whole country.”
