They’ve arrived because movement members are routinely called racists and homophobes yet still they rally. They’ve arrived because they’re called Nazis and Brownshirts and still they gather and protest. They’re mocked and impugned and told they’re part of the problem they insist they are fighting to solve in America, and yet their numbers continue to swell. People on their own side are even starting to suggest that they stand down now, and join up with the very system they are fighting to change. It’s as if, now that they’ve come this far, they’re expected to believe they’ve already run their course and it’s time to move on. You can always tell just how far you’ve come by the words and deeds of those you threaten most. And now?
